legacy support Silver Member Joined: 7/15/2008 Last visit: 3/13/2025 Posts: 382 Rating: (44)	Olloy means to say that he can use the S5 Compatible communicationof the CP343-1 Lean S5 Compatible communication can be used for communication to SIMATIC S5, The required function blocks are part of NCMS7 for Industrial Ethernet and must be tied in with the S7 user program. S5 Compatible communication with FETCH/WRITE enables direct access to S7 with the CP 1430 TCP in SIMATIC S5. If a an older model CP143 Card is used in the S5 then a CP343-1 (6GK7343-1EX30-0XE0) has to be used with the ISO over TCP/IP with FETCH/WRITE. Regards / m.f.g

I don't think your customer want to invest in outdated S5-CP cards just to connect a new panel. If there is already an IM308C you can try to connect the panel to Profibus Keep in mind that most ofthe latest panels don't support connection to S5 CPU interface any longer. As far as I know, S5 and Profinet, that's a No Go. Kind regards, BV
