I'm experiencing the same troubles trying to convert S5 project to S7 :( ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from s5 to s7 conversion .

I'm trying to convert S5 project to S7 using standard "Converting S5 files" converter. No use... At first, I had recieved a specific message: "No XRF available, blocks cannot be sorted according to their call!". I ignored it, pushed "Ok" and was willing to proceed when I recieved next one: "Duplicate block assignment', and it just failed to convert - no options.

ixo65 Grandmaster Joined: 12/18/2014 Last visit: 10/4/2024 Posts: 33879 Rating: (4214)	I have the old STEP5 V7.23. With this I created the XREF file. And the duplicate block assignment comes weil the S5 Blocks OB23 and OB24 have the same function. For both is in STEP 7 the block OB122. The converter wants this: OB23 --> OB122 OB24 --> OB122 And this not possible. I made this: OB23 --> OB122 OB24 --> OB123 Normally you delete the OB123 in the S7 project.

It's not possible to convert a s7 file back to S5, if you need to do some changes you need Step5 . The converter is meant to use in case of upgrading the hardware from S5 to S7. Regards, Marcjan
