S5 to S7 FETCH

flyer Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello everyone, I have the next problem, I need that a PLC S5-944B and a PLC S7-300 can modify the same DB's, I'm using for the S5 a CP 1430 and for the S7 a CP 343-1, we are trying to make a FETCH Connections between them but it haven'twork yet, does anyone know how to make this or have any suggestions???...does anyone knoe if it possible to do the FETCH beteewn the S5 and S7???? But I think your problem is in the way the S7 is connecting with a S5, a S5 have one connection on one TSAP and the S7 have two connections on one TSAP. So you have to program the S5 with two connections on one TSAP (default is one). But why doing it between two PLCs with FETCH/WRITE, it is easier to connect those with a SEND/RECEIVE interface. Normally FETCH/WRITE is between a PC and the S5...

flyer Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	We adding a new scada system and it doesn't talk to an S5 only to S7, so we add a kind of gateway using an S7 so that this one send the info to the S5 by industrial ethernet, that's why we need that the S7 and S5 can read and write the same DB's We alsotry to useSEND/RECEIVE but it didn't work, that why we think that maybe using the FETCH/WRITE could solve the problem, do you have any example of how to make it?? Thanks

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello flyer, well for the SEND / RECEIVE Connection there are a lot of examples on the SIMATIC NET Quick Start CD, you can find this CD at: SIMATIC NET Quick Start CD ROM 2006 with Programming and Configuration Examples for SIMATIC NET Products If you insist on Fetch Write you will have to programm all by yourself. You will have to programm the Fetch Write Header to your Application within a ISO Transport Connection to the CP 1430. You will also have to take care of the responses. There are no premade Samples for this, but if you get a Quick Start CD of 1999 you will find a very simple Sample for 1 Word on it. Best regards J_Bell

Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 11/17/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (319)	flyer Hello Late, I have another question...I already add the FETCH and the SEND connection on the S5 with the same TSAP and I have on the S7 a FETCH connection, but I still have no communication between them...I'm also using an FB 246 for the FETCH and a FB245 for RECEIVE in receive all mode, but what should I do on S7???....which bolcks I have to use???...or what configuration do I need???...I been trying to do this during two days so I kind of despered... Hi, You need FC5/FC6 for such a connection
