S5 TO S7 MIGRATION CORRECT SELECTION FOR EQUIPMENT

Im doing migration from S5 system to S7, TheS5 system has the next equipments CPU 6ES5 9283UA21, 64KB RAM MEMORY 6ES5 377 3UA11, 64KB RAM DIGITAL INPUTS 6ES5 420 4UA12 DIGITAL OUTPUTS 6ES5 441 4UA12 ANALOG OUTPUTS 6ES5 470 4UC12 ANALOG INPUTS 6ES5 460 4UA11, 6ES5 465 4UA11 AN ET100 MODULE WITH 6ES5 464 8MC11 im going to use a CPU 315-2dp with 128kb work memory, and et200m beacuseall theanalog signlasare in other cabinet, My doubt is in the analog signals, cause the old system was using the 460 and 465 analogs card for sensing pt100, tc/50mV, + 10V, and i going to use to the 331-1KF01 for pt100 and + 10V, and the 331-7KF02-0BA0 for Themo elements, i dont know if the 331-1KF01 can be wired with TC/50mV using the + 50mV, beacuse i see the specifications for the analogs cards of S5 and the only difference between each one is the numbers of inputs 8/16, anyway iattached a list of cardsand whichi selected, Can you help me?? Hi, There are more differences between a AI460 and the AI465, the AI450 is a better card and could have more difference between the channels. Please look to the getting started of the analog cards to make the right decision.... SM331; AI 8x12 Bit Getting Started part 1: 4 -20mA SM331;AI 8x12 Bit Getting Started Part 2: Voltage and PT100 SM331; AI 8 x 12 Bit Getting Started part 3: Thermocouples Wath I do with a conversion of S5 to S7 is starting up STEP7 and look in the hardware configurator which cards could do the job. Further you must realise that cheaper cards will do less for you and there is less filtering so that you have to look very carefully to the earthconcept...

Navnag Platinum Expert Joined: 11/21/2007 Last visit: 9/25/2024 Posts: 2325 Rating: (308)	Hi You must keep in mind that S5 +/-50mV Analog inputs did not have built in cold junction compensation ( One could do it by connecting a compensating box to each Ai module ) or Linearisation. These needed to be taken care of by the programmer in software. If you use 331-1KF module, I believe that you will have the same problem. Regards Navnag

Some AI have the possibility to do the correction, the 6ES7331-7KB02 {internal compensation}/ -7KF02 {external compensation}/ -7PF11 {via reference junction}could read Thermo couple elements. See the handbook S7-300 Module datafor more information about those AI...
