Hello Silva; If you want to go the Profibus-DP route, you can use a IM 318C in the S5 rack, also for a S5-115U. Have a look at this recent discussion, and follow the link provided by our friend Marcjan tosee some sample programs to configure ihe IM 318C. /tf/WW/en/Posts/78203 If your s7 CPU is a S7-400, you also have the alternative of using an IM 463-2 modules thatinterfaces with S5 racks through an IM 314: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/4069554 |

Hello Silva; If it can be of any help, here is how the IM 308C is described in the ET 200U manual: ET 200U Distributed IOs: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1142470 1.4 Slaves in the ET 200 distributed I/O system The following can be used as DP slaves in the distributed I/O system: · Distributed I/O stations: ET 200B, ET 200C, ET 200M, ET 200S, · ET 200X (up to 12 Mbaud) and ET 200U, ET 200L (up to 1.5 Mbaud) · Progammable controllers/automation systems, such as: – S5-115U, S5-135U or S5-155U with IM 308-C as DP slave – S5-95U with DP slave interface (up to 1.5 Mbaud) – S7-300 with CPU 315-2 DP or CP 342-5 as DP slave – S7-400 with CP 443-5 as DP slave · Interface to the actuator/sensor interface with the DP/AS-I link · Text displays and operator panels for local operator control and monitoring · MOBY identification systems · Low- voltage switchgear · Siemens or other-vendor field devices, IM 308-C (DP slave) As of release status 3, the IM 308-C can be used as a DP slave in the S5-115U, S5-135U and S5-155U programmable controllers. This means, for example, that you can transfer data between two programmable controllers.I agree that the IM 308C is of a smaller format than the other S5-115U modules, but you would have used an Adapter Casing (Warning: this MLFBmust be validated, I suggest you do a Support Request directly to Siemens with the link at the topright of this page): 6ES5 491-0LB11. If you have experience programming the IM 308C as a DP slave already in earlier projects, and you feel you do not need configuration software such as Com Profibus, then go right ahead (and please write the procedure in a post on the forumas a guide for others to follow). But my recollections of the ET 200U was that there were parameters and internal addressing to be done with Com Profibus. In an case, do read the S7 master-IM 308C slave sample provided in Marcjan's earlier post and see if it can apply to your project. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello Silva; As stated earlier, in order to use a S5-115U as a DP slave to a S7 PLC, you will need a IM 318C with an adaptor casing (please request the exact part number from Siemens); you might also have to look into using Com Profibus as shown in the earlier links. Note that all S5 hardware is now dicontinued, so you might have to look for PLC repairshops on the web; Com Profibus I believe Have a look at the following manual to give you an idea of the configuration of the IM 318C in a S5-115U rack, in slave mode: COM PROFIBUS Com Profibus can still be obtained from Siemens on a spare parts basis: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/5707508 Or you could ask on the forum, some members might still have a copy of the software and bewillingto help you out. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello Silva_br yes there is and Daniel Chartier already supplied you with all the info on how a Siemens IM308Ccould be used for this. The downside of the IM308C solution is that you must keep the 115 CPU in the rack which will need to be programmed to do the data marshalling between the IM308C Profibus I/O's and the local physical I/O cardsin the 115 U rack. If that is not your cup of tea, please have another look at the pdf attachment in legacy support'sreply (even thoughthe 306-1LE00isnot a Siemens card,it tends to do the job quite neatly based on my experience). I hope this helps |
