S5 to WinCC

Thereare several options to do so, please check this links: WinCC and S5 in the forum WinCC and S5 in the FAQ's You will find several Aplication notes and tips, depending on the hardware you have right now you should choose the bes aplication for you. blueberry Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi Tebanch, Thanks for your post. Actually, I have read some of the FAQs and conferences about WinCC and S5 comms, but there is no mention about Sinec L1. Actually, the existing S5-135/155U has already a BT777 terminal which i believe is for Sinec L1 protocol only. I'm not sure though of which hardware card and software licenses we need to install on a standard PC with WinCC to enable Sinec L1 communications. Thanks. Blueberry

Hello blueberry;
I have looked through all my WinCC configuration manuals, and confirmed that no version I have worked with has a driver for Sinec L1.
For example, here are the drivers you can use with a S5-115H:

Which CP's can I implement for communication between WinCC and the AG155H?

ANSWER:
You can use any CP that WinCC can communicate with.

Ethernet (H1):	CP 1430, CP 1431
Profibus (L2):	CP 5430, CP 5431
Serial link:	CP 524, CP 544

There is a solution that you could look into, though. Siemens Industrial services offers a serial driver Sinec L1 for a CP 341:

You could think about setting up a S7-300 CPU (with CP 341) as a data concentrator to the S5 network (send/recieve interfaces can be setup for master/slave and slave/slave configurations), and then connect the S7-300 CPUto WinCC through the S7 protocol suite channel(MPI, Profibus, Induistrial Ethernet). This might help you solve your problem, although there will be some expenses and work.
