Hello rscgh; That must be quite an old module, or one developped by a 3rd-party for siemens. There is no information available on the web at all, except a few repair shops that offer it refurbished, no manuals. The closest I have ever seen some thing like this was the IP 245, and that has been discontinued for at least 10 years... In any case, there are no replacements of this kind in the S7 family. I could make a suggestion based on what we have used in the past: using Festo valve islands over Profibus-DP. Very easy to setup, and to program. For some complex machines, Festo even offers S7 blocks that you can use in your program with their products. We have never gone that far, the simple DP interface gave us all the control we needed for our limited process requirements. Have a look at their offerings here: http://www.festo.com/INetDomino/innovations_2006/en/aeacaac8160e2404c1257145002d92fb.htm I am sure that other manufacturers offer similar equipment, look at Profibus.com or Google. But I can vouch for the Festo offerings, Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
