Hi Dan,

Discussed this with colleague again.  He is using the example of -32768 for wire break as an example of a "fault code", but as we have discussed it really isn't a fault code, but rather simply represents no voltage or current coming into the input (due to a wire break).

No harm done. It depends what your definition is on what "fault code" means.

There is something valuable to take away from this - understanding the other guy's frame of reference is important. Like NASA's problem case of crashing a pod for the rover into Mars because one team worked in SI units and other did not.
