BryanG2001 Posts: 113 Rating: (22)	TIA V11 SP2. I might be being a bit thick here, but there seems to be a step that nobody tells you about. If I drag a TSEND_C in to the program the system automatically creates a TSEND_C Function block and a TSEND_C DB, both of these are locked so you can't change any settings. The bit that nobody mentions is that you have to add a new DB block of type TCON_Param, open the new DB (stored in System Blocks / Program Resources) and give it a unique ID, then give the new DB name to the CONNECT input of the TSEND_C instruction. Then you can edit all values for IP adresses and port numbers in the new DB. This also seems to also apply to the TM_Mail instruction but here you tie them together via the ID input. Is this right? Now if I could figure out why TM_Mail is missing out of the TeleService drop down menu on one of my test programs I would be a happy man!!

When I drag TSEND_C in to my FC the system automatically creates TSEND_C[FBxxxx] and TSEND_C_DB[DBxx], both are locked. I then create a DB of type TCON_Param. The system lists these three items in System Blocks / Programme Resources. Enter the TCON_Param DB and set the ID to a unique number. You can set the values that TSEND_C will use either in the TCON_Param DB or in the Properties of the TSEND_C instruction though I sometimes had problems, I think it was when I had both the Properties and the DB open at the same time. If you make changes in the TCON_Param DB and download them, don't forget to restart the CPU or the changes won't take effect. So the answer to my own question is 'Yes' you have to create a DB of type TCON_Param. I will have a play and see if the same applies to TM_MAIL. Attachment TSEND_C.pdf (235 Downloads)

BryanG2001 Posts: 113 Rating: (22)	Playing with Email was easier than I had hoped thanks to an excellent step-by-step by Dave Sonsalla. /tf/WW/en/Posts/86883 And the answer for TM_MAIL is 'No' you don't need the extra TCON_Param DB, the settings in the auto created TM_MAIL_DB are editable even though the DB is locked. There is nothing like consistency.
