S7-1200 compatibility with CAN

Hi,

I am new to PLCs so forgive me for any errors. 

I wish to use the S7-1200 PLC (namely the 1212ACDCRly model) to control an axial motor. The motor has a controller which accepts CANOpen or CAN J1939 inputs.

Is the S7-1200 compatible with CANOpen or CAN J1939 inputs? If so, will I need any interface/IO cards or can I connect it directly?

Siemens has often used HMS as a third-party provider of CANopen equipment. For the S7-1200, they have developed the CM CANopen, as seen in the following Application Example:
