We have a customer who has the S7-1200 CPU 1215 working as a Modbus Client they want to pull data from a device working as a Modbus Server that collect sensors data from us. 

The PLC is FW v4.0, and they juse TIA Portal V13, when they try to initiate the communication the STATUS parameters stores two error, 7002 and 8086 and the connection never get established.

Do they need to use that parameter to establish connection?

Hello team,

We were able to configure S7-1200 to communicate with Modbus Server, the issue was that TIA PORTAL had to be updated and change the way to connnect using now TCON_IP_V4 parameter.

We updated the TIA Portal software and change the way to connect now using TP_CONN_V4 parameters, and that worked.
