S7-1200 datalog app

The S7-1200, like stay in his system manual (http://support.automation.siemens.com/BR/view/en/36932465 apendix A), has a real time clock retention time of 20 days typ./12 days min. at 40 °C (maintenance-free Super Capacitor).

If it doesn’t occurs, that means defect.

We are programming s7-1200 for datalogging where time is important, that it is the right time. Most of the time the customer is ordering like 5 datalog devices. But he will not install them within the 20 days you mentioned. The result is that the time is lost.

Is there an app solution that i can suggest to thecustomer so he can control it from his mobile. Offcours he then also needs a router with wifi to connect to thes7-1200.

I found some apps but they all can not find the database due to the new structure. There is no offset mentioned anymore in the V13 software, if you create a new database. And these apps all work with offset.

The datalog devices arenormally offline.

...At a minimum, send them theSIMATIC Automation Tool so they can set the time using a laptop or computer of their choice.

By setting up the database i have choosen for the option global db but i do not see the offset columm in the database and the option in vieuwing colums is not settable,

I tried the simatic automation tool.

But this is not really a user friendly tool

1: If U want to update the program with this tool,You have to make a s7 file to make the update. An s7 file you can only make with a mem card. so this is not realy working if you have no mem card.

2: You can not save the program or project without a pasword. And than also the program is telling me what sort of password i am using. that is not working for me.

3: If you only want to update the time and date and you have protected the PLC program with a pasword. It tels you that youhave the wrong pasword. First of all where can i put the pasword, secondly. if it is the project paswordt. than i do not want to use it.Third, i do not want the customer to know the pasword of the PLC program.

So this is also no option.

At the end of the day. the program has not really any added value for me.

I can decide if i want to put the project behind a pasword.

I can use the pasword as i want it, so not with capital or funny caracters

Ican decide if the user can updatethe plc programwithout the pasword.

It can choose how to update the PLC, or with a S7 file or with the standard PLC file that is used like with the ap11 or ap13 extension.

maybe some siemens developpers can read this file to.
