S7-1200 Ethernet Conncectivity

Zarif Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Dears, I am trying a new program on S7-1200 with a user defined web page. All previous tests (with other programs) went fine. Now, I cannot access the web page on the assigned address of the web server. Applying the ping command on the IP address of the web server returns 0% loss. So, the PC is seeing the IP address, yet the web page does not open. Any ideas? I will be grateful. Thanks!

Four steps, some you may have already done. 1. Enable web server 2. Generate blocks for your custom web page(s) 3. Insert the www block in main or some other block that always runs. 4. Download hardware and software changes to the plc. Key here is hardware as many people forget this.

peterplavec Posts: 28 Rating: (1)	In earlier TIA Portal (I think it was TIA V11) I resolved a similar problem with unaccessible webpages by enabling secure SSL connection, then accesing webpage by https:// ... Maybe its worth to try it out.

But when loading the program to the CPU (FW3, with TIA 12) I got error messages and made the modifications accordingly. Yet, I will try as you say with the security issue. Thanks.

Yet, I will try as you say with the security issue. Thanks. If you are still having troubles, you may want to (in the same project) add a new PLC and hardware just like your faulty PLC. Do not copy / paste the hardware configuration. Now just do the smallest amount of work to enable web server, and generate your web page blocks, add the www block, and download the hardware/software. Verify it works in that way. Sometimes it is because the PC and PLC network addresses are not compatible. A simple ping to the plc from the PC accessing the web server can confirm the browser should be able to access it.

Did you provide the path to the custom web page in the web page configuration? Did you generate blocks and can you see the blocks in the "System Blocks" section that were generated? If you go online and select the web page for the PLC, does it give you the user (custom) web page link once you login as a link on the main web server's default page along the left side? Once you see that, you can click the link and it should open. A few screenshots of your hardware config for the web server, your www block, and your web page link when online with the plc may be really helpful.

Zarif Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Thank you for your fast response. Yes. I enabled the web server, selected the directory and the web page and generated the blocks. It is a basic program. I can see the DB333 and DB334 in the system blocks. I am getting the attached response from the browsers. So it does not even reach the basic page of the web server. Although as I explained earlier, pinging the IP address from the command prompt window is getting 0% loss, i.e. connectivity is working and also going online is working.
