S7-1200 ethernet printer

I have a 1214 and an ethernet connected printer (like a Zebra). I don't have any kind experience in PLC net communication. Have somebody example of TCP comunication (use of TCon, TSend command)

Try to open communication on port 9100, for ex. your printer has IP 193.168.1.30: Open command window, and type: Telnet 193.168.1.30:9100 , press enter write something, and close telnet, look if printer prints out the text.

DPMike Member Joined: 9/29/2010 Last visit: 1/23/2024 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thanks for the idea. With cmd.exe the command telnet 192.168.0.44:9100 don't work (impossible to open connection...) Now I understand that the printer port is 9100. I'm able to send packet from PLC to PC, using a client/server software I can verify comunication on the classic 2000 port. I use the same software to send printer command, but the printer wouldn't work. Now the problem turn around the printer.

Marko Bursic Platinum Member Joined: 9/8/2009 Last visit: 7/17/2023 Posts: 1410 Rating: (154)	If you can't connect to printer using telnet, then I guess also PLC can't connect that's obvious. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_TCP_and_UDP_port_numbers As stated most ethernet printers (including Zebra) are accepting raw connection on their port no. 9100. Look in manual of printer which ports are accessible. Are you sure about IP address of printer?

I use the printer software to create and print label, by a print to file i have the text command to send. Looking the Windows printer propriety, it use raw 9100 The printer documentation talk only about serial connection (ethernet info are poor), and I don't have a direct access to the printer thecnical service (only the non-thecnical wholesaler)
