s7 1200, measure the motor position

hi,
I am using s7 1200, CPU 1212C AC/DC/RLY. I am using external encoder for positioning the motor and i have to measure it. I am new to the PLC programming and i activated HSC as per instruction. I am getting signals as well. But i want to measure the position.
Can you guys please help me out??

Hi

Try to change the input filter from 6.4 ms to 0.1 ms

Create a tag for the address given in the HCS, may be ID 1000

You should be able to monitor the tag, and it should change values af you turn the encoder
