Is it possible to use CP1243-1 for modbus tcp master communication in S7-1200?

Also what you want to do with Modbus TCP master. what kind of devices you are planning to connect with Modbus TCP protocol?

First, I want to connect to some existing power meter that only support modbus protocol (Schneider PM).

Second, I want to have a separate network between Modbus network and SCADA network. This is request from the project owner. To do this, I need CP1243-1.

What do you think? Is it possible to have this kind of configuration?

 Your Schneider PM supports Modbus TCP? 

You mean two separate network in the sense wireless and connected through router? I am not familiar with CP-1243-1 and so i am not sure whether it can serve the purpose for you. I think it is better againto check the CP-1243-1 application in the link i had shared before and see whether it is sufficient for you. For modbus TCP, it will be easy if you can establish the communication between the PM and PLC.

Yes, Schneider PM supports Modbus TCP.

The separate network means the first network is for local communication of PLC and substation device via Modbus TCP (using CP1243-1). And second network is for communication to SCADA (WinCC V7 using PLC Ethernet port).

Or can I switch the ethernet port purpose? I mean, is CP1243-1 support S7 Communication to connect with WinCC V7? Because as you said, Modbus TCP is easier using PLC Ethernet Port. I already test it. Currently I don't have CP1243-1 because I need information first whether my configuration will work or not before buying the CP.
