Thanks for the advice, the Netbook is running SP3 and XP Home with 1G. I'm not suprised the netbook is slow however I have tried getting a connection on two other laptops and two desktops whichall meet requirements and those don't connect either. Also tried another identical PLC and new programming lead. I have 6 to play with as I have purchased a college pack for training purposes. I've taken advice on the forum with regard to setting for the ethernet card, ie not obtain an IP address automatically. But use the following IP address: IP Address 192.168.0.1 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 I'm familar withthe windows control panel, Set PG/PC Interface and the online settings within Step 7 basic. Waiting for a call from Siemens tech support tomorrow, could they have shipped faulty PLCs, or the wrong prog lead! I thought PLC comms was suposed to be easy nowadays, RS232 wasn't great but it did finally work, really drawn a blank with this and tried so many PCs with no joy. I have fitted an analoge output module but can't see how that would upset things would it! Any advice would be good. |

Seen all four, all it does is highlight the fact further that the comms shouldn't be hard. Looking forward to Siemens stance on it tomorrow. Thanks for the links anyway. |
