S7-1200 positioning with G120C inverter

I want to use S7-1200 Motion Control library for positioning drive with G120C, thru analog output.

Is this possible?

What limitation/ disadvantages goes from such a configuration?

You need to have version v5.0 motion control TIAv13 SP1 and so on....

IMO: You need to try it. You could expect problems when approaching to the target position, because the induction motor will stall at low speed right before reaching the target position.  You will have to work around with setting the minimum frequency on the inverter and then to stop positioning once the position reaches the tolerance.

It might be simpler to use a P-regulator and few lines of code as this sytem will never reach the dynamics, speed needed for motion control.
