(note: there is many differences between 300 / 1200, however this workaround could be used to simule some algorithms).

How they can release a development tool (TIA basic) without the oppurtinity to test the functions and function blocks? How they can work on the further version, if even the former version is incomplete? So every software developer should put on this table a 1200er, to test/evaluate their standard functions... So typically siemens...

Hello OnoMas, As of now, YES a real CPU is the best way of realizing the programs. You can make reuse most of the S7-1200 code as a code in a S7-300/S7-400 system. I would say, we can comfortably simulate the 70% of S7-1200 code by this technique. (optimized data block doesn't work with S7-300/S7-400, DB must be created as S7-300/400 compatible blocks)
