S7-1200 (Step7 Basic V10.5) MOVE instruction

Motion09 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am working on a project to convert a PLC program from S7-300 to S7-1200. While using Step 7 basic to create the program for theS7-1200, I am encountering the following problem: When using the MOVE instruction to put an integer number to global DB, I receive the error stating: "The MOVE instruciton only allows data blocks based on SDT/UDT" The same move instruction and definition of the global (shared) data block works fine in Step 7. I have tried a few different things, like creating a different DB that has the "Symbolic Acces Only" option unchecked, but it does not make a difference. Attached is a screen shot of the network described. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Attachment Network.JPG (700 Downloads)

Giuliano Posts: 21 Rating: (14)	Hi, I dont understand 100% your problem... but I'll help you. I think you declared the DB name only and not the variable inside of its DB. Tip: after you choose the DB "DB001_HMI" place in the end of DB name a point e.g "DB001_HMI".xxx, soin this waya variablewill appear automatically. Good luck!

Motion09 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Guiliano, Thank you, adding the . (dot) after the DB name was the trick. I guess I was used to typing the DB name and being able to press on the ">>" symbol next to the DB name from the drop down menu to access the data on the DB, but that does not work on the MOVE instruction (it works on other instructions). Thank you for the tip.
