Hello everybody !

I never configured communications before and have not the PLCs yet.

Please help me to choose optimal communication solution for my not quite ordinary task.

HARDWARE :

There are 8 pieces of S7-1200. They all have the same type of CPU, namely  1214C DC/DC/RELAY

The communications between them should be ONLY configured with a PROFINET port (interface) embedded in CPU.

PLC  TASKs:

Only PLC1… PLC5 control and gather data from their local areas (LA1…LA5). Data are not too many bits about statuses of several manual switches and Limit switches.

PLC6… PLC8 have no any local areas to control and monitor.

When some event occurs in a some LA1…LA5 the corresponding PLC must transfer a message bit to ALL other PLCs.

For example, if in LA3 some limit switch is opened/closed then PLC3 has to send a message bit to PLCs 1,2,4…8.

The events in LA1…LA5 may occur independently and in any time (sporadically).

TRANSFER  DELAY  TIME    between any PLCs might be up to 5 sec.

NETWORK  UNITs :  ADSL – modem at every LA which is used as a network gate for local sub-network

COMMUNICATIONS  CABLES :  multy-wire cable with twisted copper wires, diameter 0,25 mm

COMMUNICATION  RELIABILITY :  It’s desirable to communicate so that in case of losing the communication to some partner (cable is broken, bad connection in a socket, PLC power supply unit has failure , etc.) all other partners will continue the data exchange.

Which communicationtype(s) &program blocks would  YOU use in my case ?

Which communication type(s) can be used in my case ? :

1. «S7-communication» communication;
2. or  «Open User Communication with T-blocks»;
3. or  MODBUS-TCP
4. or  “Profinet»(«PNIO» &«CBA» variants)

According to  21.6.4 which communication type and program blocks would U use at a first glance.

1. «S7-communication»;
2. or «Open User Communication with T-blocks» (TSEND/TRCV, TUSEND/TURCV )
3. or «Open User Communication with T-blocks» (TSEND_C/TRCV_C) ;

Which communication type and program blocks would someone else use in my case.

Explane why if it is possible, pls.
