hschaft Posts: 57 Rating: (8)	If you have ES11 SP1 and CPU F/W 2.1..2, then you should be able to use the MODBUS TCPClient and Server FBs located in the Communication area of the ES. There are 8 OUCs (Open User Communications) per PLC. If you have other communications, such as GET/PUT and/or T_Blocks then you may not have enough connections. If you are using the MODBUS TCP Server in the PLC, confirm the status of the variable Connected for the Data Block for that Server FB. Also, if you are trying to use a port besides 502, I'm not sure that Modscan will allow that. Hope this helps. If not, post again.

Shahid muhammed Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Let me explain the situation in detail I have a S7-1212C (6ES7 212-1BD30-0XB0) module, recently I have updated the firmware to V2.03. I have been using this unit with OPC Scout V10 for reading the digital input lines. Now I want to do the same through Modscan (reading the DI line status). I am using TIPortal V10.5 in the PC. As far as the PLC is considered I have not put any logic or communication instruction inside, So someone please guide me on this.

hschaft Posts: 57 Rating: (8)	The Modbus TCP FBs are not available in TIA 10.5 This feature is available in TIA 11 SP1. After upgrading, you will need to change your project to add a Modbus TCP Server FB so that Modscan can retrieve the data from the S7-1212C.
