Brawley Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	I am having problems communicating with a Shimaden furnace controller. Hardware: Shimaden furnace controller FP93 S7-1214C DCDCDC CB1241 RS485 module Connections: controller --> CB1241 SG --> M DATA+ -->TR/B DATA- --> TR/A Software: I configurated the port like it said in the controller's manual (baud rate 9600, 7 bits, even parity, 1 stop bit) Then I created a data block with a string variable, I have tried many different forms to make this string, the latest I used is the following:'$02$30$31$31$52$30$31$30$30$30$03$44$41$0D' I connected this datablock.string to the buffer input of Send_PTP, the length 14. The RCV_PTP block gets triggered by the DONE output of the SEND_PTP block. I hooked the RCV_PTP NDR port up to a SR memory, so that I would see when I received a message, but this bit never gets set. According to the manual, this is a read command (STX 0 1 1 R 0 1 0 0 0 ETX D A CR in ASCII) SO this string contains all the characters that should be send to the controller, but I still get no response from the controller. The configurations I made for start and end of received message are the following: Wait time in port config: 500ms Start on any character Recognize message end with a specific character: CR I have no idea what else I could be doing wrong.

Could it be possible that you send this length information (instead of the last two bytes of the telegram)? Then the telegram seems to be uncomplete from communication partner point of view and it won't answer. Regards, Kaulquappe

Brawley Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have connected a monitor device to see if my code gets send and to see if the furnace contoller can respond. When I monitor the PLC, I see that the correct code gets send. When I send that exact same code to the furnace with the monitoring device, I get the expected result. That makes me think that the receive PTP function block is not wel configured. Now it is permanently enabled, the trigger for the block is the 'send' output from the send_PTP block. I have connected an array of CHAR to the buffer input of the receive block. What could be wrong here? Greetings

"Now it is permanently enabled, the trigger for the block is the 'send' output from the send_PTP block." ? Do you mean ENO from send_ptp is connectedto EN_R from receive_ptp?

Since the EN_R at rcv_ptp has to be "true" during the whole receivin process, which might lastlonger than just 1 cpu cycle. Also you should connect the "STATUS"-output at rcv_ptp to checkthe block's status. Note: the value of "STATUS" only remains for 1 CPU cycle. After that youmight submit the statusto us for simplifying the help.

Brawley Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	I have connected the datalogtrigger to a SR block with set=datalogtrigger, reset= NDR bit from receive_PTP. The status remains 0000 at all times.I read this status by moving the status byte to a memory, this action is triggered by the error output of the receive_PTP.

So to sum it up: -send_ptp works fine (no ERROR and STATUS value?) -rcv_ptp is "true" at EN_R -rcv_ptp doesn'tprovide NDR -rcv_ptp doesn't provide ERROR and STATUS My last guess is a false hardware parametrization.
