 I am having the same problem in my S7 1214C CPU(Modbus Client), getting 8383 Error  while testing with Modsim32(Modbus Server) software. Starting address and length is same in both PLC and Modsim32 but still getting the error..

Can u please someone guide me? Here attached the screen shot.

 Please ensure that you have selected Connection > Connect > Modbus/TCP svr.

After that Check that if you have allowed the application through the firewall. If it is not the case, enable the application through firewall. Another option is to diable the firewall which is not recommended.

Go read what Smiffy wrote in post 2 a) earlier in this thread. 

He describes what is happening when you use start address 40001.

Just a single screen shot i have posted here. Already Tried with offset  as told by smiffy but i was getting the Error 8383.

I don't have have any Problem with connection.i think Error 8383 is data format problem.

Thanks for your nice explanation. I tried as u said like 1 in MB_Client and 40001 with value 15 in Modsim,Also 2 In MB_Client and In modsim 40001..40010 but still i am getting same error. 

Checked 0002 also.. Please find attached screen shot.

Is there any other simulation software to easily communicate with siemens PLC?

look to MB_CLIENT instruction help, you need put in MB_DATA_ADDR address depended to your register - 40002. This value you need put to MB_DATA_ADDR input. Look to that help, on Siemens side you need use that described options/values. On other side of 'line' system of values can be different due offset interpretation.

Update: sry maybe I was not clear, try set value 40002 to MB_DATA_ADDR.

thnx for your perfect help, but probably not, because Siemens addressing holding registers from 40001. When I think about offsets and start register value, better going there 40003 than 0 hehehe. I really doubt about that 0, simply it doesn't tell me nothing due Siemens option due 03 code with Holding register hmmmm. He must make tests and hope he will give us info.
