S7 1215C - When trying to download, it drops the connection?

When that happens, I try one of the following:

1. check my cables are properly terminated (using a cable tester)

2. Verify the plc network jack pins are not bend (flashlight, mirror and smartphone camera or magnifying glasses)

3. Reset PLC to factory defaults and try again

4. Manually assign the ip address and try again

5. Get a different plc and try it in the exact same location with all the same wiring.

6. Try the original plc using a different computer, like another control engineer's computer

7. Return to Siemens for replacement
