Hi Azimuth it depends on the type of S7-1500 CPU and the technical spec will give these details. For example, a 1516-3 PN/DP (6ES71516-3AN02-0AB0) has an overall limit of 1000 distributed I/O devices that can be connected via AS-i, PROFIBUS or PROFINET. Note that each port has its own limits too, which in the 1516-3 PN/DP case are:
To get to the 1000 device limit you'll need to add Communication modules and in this case can have up to 8 additional CM's (and check each CM's limit of number of connectable devices). Last but not least, you would also want to check the overall I/O module number and I/O address area limits in the tech spec too. |
