Dear experts,

I'm trying to read PAC3200 energy values using a Simatic S7-1500 through modbus TCP but I can't, so I conected the S7-1500 with a S7-1200 to descart but configuration of the Client block in the S7-1500 and everything was ok. Then I tried to conect the S7-1200 to the PAC3200 without success either.

So searching information i found an example to conect s7-1200 with two sentron pacs and y probe this program and oh sorprise! it works!!!.

So i decide to follow all the step and do a new program based on the application example from siemens but it didn't worked!!!!.

Could any one PLEASE tell what i'm ignoring in the configuration to conect my sentron pac with the s7-1500. If is posible please make an applicacion example.

P.S. I attach the configuracion of my cliente block of the s7-1500

can you give some more informations/ details about what is not working.

Is the connection establishing already the problem or didn't get you values from the PACs?

I wondering a little about your DB. I had a look about the "CONNECT Parameter" which is needed for the "MB_Client" block.

After the "LocalPort" parameter there are other variables attached. I think that will cause problems, because this is the definition of the connection.

I guess the "MB_Client" block cannot handle this DB if it is not the fixed structure. Do you get any errors on the output of the "MB_Client" block?

Which unit number have you entered in the IDB of the Modbus_client block?

Some Modbus devices don't work if the number is 0 or to high.

Thanks for your anwswer. As I posted, with that block i established the Modbus TCP conection with a S7-1500 (client) and a S7-1200 (server). Now, i retired the s7-1200 and change the IP address of the MB_Client block which was with the s7-1200 ip address and put the SENTRON PAC (the new server) ip address load the new configuration and ... nothing happens.

When i connect with the S7-1200 as server everything is ok, but when i change to the SENTRON PAC as server i can't establish the connection.

i'm working on that sample for two days but client block gives 809B error code. i can't find this code's mean anywhere.(i looked help and some websites) In this sample, there are client and server blocks v2.0. But for s7-1500 i can use v4.0 and they are differents.

in this case MB instructions use probably connection via standard TCON connection sructure, so look for TCON (S7-1500 set) for ERROR+STATUS 16#809B value explanation.
