I was just trying to connect S7-1500 plc with S7-1200 using plc sim to see what protocols are supported (latest firrmware for both controllers) but using th connections tab I am not able to connect the controllers together with a protocol other than S7 connection, did anyone have this problem before?

Also, can you please explain the difference between I-Device and S7-connection? I read about it but really did not understand

Linking HMI to PLC can be simulated
- maybe PLC to PLC can too.
BUT you will have to run 2 PLCSIM instances.
My doubt is however very strong.

I have tried before with 2 x S7-1500 plc sim, it work 

now i try with 1 x S7-1500 and 1 x S7-1200 but I cannot do any other connection from S7 connection, I want to try for example TCP or ISO on TCP

I have Step7 professional V13 sp1

i program 2 S71500, set up connection tab (drag and drop S7 connection to each port of every cpu), then use put and get communication blocks in every plc in Ob or function.

make sure option is active in every cpu protection settings for put and get communication, run simulation on each cpu and voila, communication works.

edit: ofcourse you need to program a db on each cpu forthw data to be sent and received alao 

New question published by Latifa is split to a separate thread with the subject exchange data between CPU S7 1200 and CPU S7 1500 with SCALANCE X208.
