hi DGhosh, for Profinet, one of them should be device to the other. As I know S7-200 don´t supports Profinet. but I think there is a possibility to do it just over Ethernet. For this see following FAQ: How do you configure an S7 connection for data communication between an S7-200 and an S7-300 or S7-400 on the Industrial Ethernet?hope this helps, regards, |

DGhosh - There is a problem with my earlier notes. I have looked through the System Manual for the S7-200 Smart (A5E03822230-AB). I cannot confirm that the built-in Ethernet port is in actual fact a Profinet enabled port. I would assume as much as there is mention of Put and Get functions in the manual under the heading of "7.3.1 Get table and put table (Ethernet)". There is also special mentions in the updated text document found under [LINK]. It may very easily be that the S7-200 SMART can link with the S7-400, but that this fact is not publicly mentioned anywhere... it is really best to contact your nearest Siemens distributor or perhaps.. |
