Dear All,

 I have two PLCs with me : one is S7-300 with CPU 317-2/PN/DP and ABB AC500 PM571 PLC. As per my application, I want to read data from ABB PLC and put it in Siemens PLC for further processing using 

So, I would like to know how I achieve ? Any snapshot or existing example projects shall be helpful to me.

The PM571 supports Modbus/TCP communications, so the easiest way would be to setp the S7-300 CPU as a Modbus/TCP client using its integrated PN port.

Dear Daniel,

Thanks for the answers.

Considering the Modbus, I know how to create S7-CPU as a master(client) of modbus, but i have not much idea about how I configure ABB PM571 for Modbus TCP/IP server.I searched  google, but i could not find any good solution for Modbus configuration of PM571. 

I wonder whether direct ProfiNet commmunication between them is possible or not. If yes, it would b the best approach for me.

Hello drmandge;

Based on the information I found on the AC500 CPU, Profinet does not seem to be a supported protocol.

And programming/configuring details for a Modbus server should be requested from ABB.

That is helpful. I have to use Modbus TCP to communicate between them. I got some informtion from google about how to create ABB PLC as Modbus Client. I hope I can proceed with my application..
