s7 -300 cp location in the rack

playerslight Posts: 1064 Rating: (72)	hello all I have a plc with an s7 -300 # 6es7 315 2af03 0ab0 and i added a cp to the end of the rack #6gk7 3431ex21 oxeo inbetween the cpu and the cp are 4 input and3output cards so my rack is completely fully .i can ping the the card and go online with it using step 7 manager with no issues but i can not connect to it with wincc v7 sp3 no connections error 4116 which tells me that the rack or cpu slot is wrong or that i have no connections available in wincc . i used rack 0 slot 2 along with my ip address and no connection . i do have simatic net installed and have 15 other plc's connected but just to make sur ei added another plc connection and it's working fine. Is it possible that i can not connect since my cp is at position 11 and not closer to the cpu ?

Check the following: Go to hardware configuration and double click on CPU. Go to tab "Communication" Here you will find the reserved connections. (Online you can see how many are used) Perhaps you can give more resources free, by uncheck the reserved connections Best regards, Wizard

playerslight Posts: 1064 Rating: (72)	It shows maximum 1 2with 8 free i do have2 op panels on profibus but that is it .I t say i have 8 reserved for s7 communications and 0 used

Then you have 4 static connections, and 8 dynamic connections. But when you are using the 4 static connections, you can not reach CPU. Try to disconnect an OP panel (for test) and perhaps then you can connect WinCC. If this helps, then perhaps you can update the firmware: Operating system updates for S7-315 CPUs Or change CPU for newer one. Best regards, Wizard

playerslight Posts: 1064 Rating: (72)	Thank you wizzard I think i will propse taht they replace the cpu with a newer version that should take care of the issue By the way i disabled an op panel and now i have my connection to wincc
