You can have more info on the subject by reading software redundancy manual. In chapter 5, you will find examplewith S7-315 2DP. In chapter 7, you will find description for WinCC blocks for software redundancy. Regarding MODBUS communication, you will find in chapter 4.10 (Page51) that CP341 can be used under ET200M in software redundancy and you can configure this CP to work as a MODBUS slave.
