S7-300 CPU-CPU Communication

Eng.ahmedSubhi Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Hi guys: I have a three S7-300 systems with 315-2DP cpu in each and each system connects to 10 ET200S distributed I/O system, my problem is that i need these three CPU's to communicat with a 4th 315-2DP cpu via PROFIBUS network so that these three CPU's can exchange data with the 4th one. Is that possible and what is the network componenet i need. Thanks.

Is that possible and what is the network componenet i need. Thanks. How many data you have to exchange? What are the options for exchanging data between CPUs via MPI/PROFIBUS DP? I think your CPU are all Master, the easiest way is to use a DP/DP Coupler, depend how many data you want to exchange. My data is a few number of bytes(max. 20 bytes)..i see the conniction of two cpu's via DP/DP coupler but i dont now how to connect the four cpu's via the coupler.... another thing is there any code function needed to establish this connection. Thanks again.

Hello Eng.ahm, You need three DP/DP Coupler one for each CPU, e.g. connect CPU 1 on the DP1 of DP/DP Coupler 1 to CPU 4 on DP 2 of DP/DP Coupler 1, connect CPU 2 on the DP 1 of DP/DP Coupler 2to CPU 4 on DP 2 of DP/DP Coupler 2.... it easy just enter the DP/DP coupler in the hardware configuration in both CPUs, such as the CPU 1 will haveone DP/DP coupler, the CPU 2 you'll haveone DP/DP coupler, the CPU 3 will haveone DP/DP coupler and the CPU 4 you'llhave 3 of DP/DP coupler if you have to exchange data from CPU 1,2 and 3 to CPU 4, then you will usethe peripheral addresses, to exchange data.

Hello You can exchange 244 byte of data with the single DP/DP Coupler e.g. CPU 1 to CPU 4 244 byte, CPU 2 to CPU 4 244 byte of data and so on...
