Hi everyone,

i want  to select siemens s7-300 cpus as master DP (PLC System 1)and slave DP(PLC System 2).

both cpus are 350meter  distance  a part.

Application is gather data from both cpus via profibus..

1)Profibus will support for this distance???

2)how can i make 1 S7-300 CPU as DP Master and another CPU DP Slave.

Please suggest.

which Transmission Rate you need.

Up to 400m you can use 500 kBit/s, for higher Transmission rate you should use repeater for this distance.

Configuring:

DP Slave -> Open the properties if the DP Interface of the SLave PLC and set the mode to DP_Slave.

Select the PROFIBUS Network from the master and in the Master config insert a i-Slave object from the catalog, here you can configure the Transferareas.

you can use some OLM adapters for DP-Fiber Optic transfer between both CPUs, then you can use also high speeds.
