s7 300 downloading error

Techy Posts: 86 Rating: (2)	Hello All, I am facing problem while downloading the S7300 ladder to CPU. I tried browsing the Forum if someone had this kind of error, but couldn't come across any. The ladder has been compiled tested on simulator first & runs fine, but when I download it to CPU it does not allow me to download any FC's FB's OBs. I checked the MMC card & its present. I have tried Mreset , online deletion of all blocks in the CPU memory & even downloading a truncated ladder which contains just OB1 with 1 N/W. Still the problem persists. My hardware configuration is CP315-2DP, CP341 in Processor rack, Rack1 -Rack 5 containing I/O cards . All racks connected on DP/Profibus using IM153-1. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks, Techy

Techy Posts: 86 Rating: (2)	Wizard, It gives me all kind of errors - For example for FCs & FBs it gives " Block size is too big" Whe I cross check the size of Fb it only occupies 126 bytes. The CPU also doesn'tdownload OB 83,84,88. On FC1 downloading it gave me error 0294:23 B280. Where do I look for the details of this error code? Also the CPU has SF LED ON & BF blinking. Thanks, Techy

See manual: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/13206730 page 109. More info on error, when it's shown there must be a button 'Help on error' Best regards, Wizard

Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 2/16/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (311)	Hi Techy, There is no compiler that checks that, this because the time to check everything will be long, also the interpreter doesn't know which CPU is behind it. And what to do when you make for example a datablock later...... So when you see a INTF on the CPU and you are using Error-OB's OB121/122, you might see which error is realy there by deleting them from the CPU. Because PLCSIM simulates every CPU also there would be only trouble when deleting the OB's. However, wenn you look in the diagnostic buffer, the errors will be there also.

trainee Posts: 40 Rating: (1)	Techy, Maybe you have to go to Module Information and look in to Diagnostic Buffer. Normally you should get more information on what happened. Is your online connection allright? If there is a block of any kind do you see it online and can you delete it. Else you should check all your connections again. Also you can only use OB 82, 85, 86 and 87. grtz FKIL

The ladder program was addressing Memory area beyond M 2047, so after making changes in ladder & removing those offending OBs , things are working great! Late - I wish the compiler atleast checks for the Memory area limits, that would have solved the whole issue. Thanks, Techy
