S7-300 IO with Hot Swapping by using Profibus or Profinet????????

CPU 315PN/DP (6ES7 3152EH140AB0) 2. ET 200 M (Profibus IM or Profinet ?????) . I have 30 nos. of SM module. 3. Active Bus module for IM (PS/IM :- 6ES7 1957HA000XA0) 4. Active Bus Module for EM/EM (6ES7 -1957HB00XA0) Please let me know whether this hardware is ok for IO hot swaping?? Also I have 1 server and 3 Client. Suppose If I use first port of CPU for all Profinet High Feature IM and CPU Second port for Server and Client.I have one query whether communication load of CPU is increase or it will work without any problem? Please guide to make proper Selection of hardware . Regards, Yogendra G.

This should help you find information on the Siemens support websiter (use the search box at the right of this page). The distributed modules you selected will work (see the link below) but not your CPU: only the S7-400 CPUs will support CiR, with restrictions to newer firmware levels: Plant modification during operation via CiR *Hardware Requirements* You require the following hardware configuration in order to be able to modify the configuration of a system in RUN mode via CiR: Implementation of an S7-400 standard-CPU (CPU 412, CPU 414, CPU 416 or CPU 417) as of Firmware V3.1.0 or an S7-400-H CPU (CPU 414-4H or CPU 417-4H) in stand-alone mode as of Firmware V3.1.0 If you want to make modifications to the system during operation… Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

I just want Hot swapping of IO Module. If any Signal Module is fail then I can able to change that faulty hardware in run mode without CPU goes in stop mode. I have read lot of thread on Hot Swapping of IO module. All people suggest Profinet IM is support for Hot swapping with S7-300 CPU. So I have selected all hardware as per pervious thread. fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 9/10/2024 Posts: 3020 Rating: (1054)	Hello YogendraG Hot Swap (aka Module change during operation) is available for Profibus as well as Profinet ET200M's. For reasons only known to Siemens, you need to do GSD file basedconfiguration for a Profibus ET200M on an S7-300 (and OB83 is not supported either in that case). Have a look at "Module change during operation" - Configuration and system requirements for more on this. With a Profinet ET200M it is a simple tick mark in the ET200M's properties to enable Module change during operation (be it a an S7-300 or 400 as the PN I/O Controller). In either case, make sure you have all the required error OB's in your S7 to avoida CPU stop and the FAQWhich organization blocks do you have to load into the CPU to ensure that the CPU does not go into the "STOP" status when a remote I/O fails? will give you all the details on this. I hope this helps
