maciekelga Regular Member Joined: 1/26/2012 Last visit: 2/17/2022 Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a problem with my CPU, S7-300 is connected to PC via Ethernet and to this same CPU is connect operating panel Proface GP2600 via MPI. When MPI plug is connect then Ethernet is not working, for example: i try to turn on monitoring in Step 7 when operating panel is connect it is impossible, when i unplug panel everything is ok. It`s looks like working MPI block Ethernet. What to do? btw. sorry for my English ;)

Mpi adress off the CP (if you have one) and panel not the same? See attachment page 2 what i mean. In GP panel i set MPI address 2 and the same transfer speed like in CPU. I loading screens to GP via Ethernet but communicate with PLC via MPI directly (without adapter). Generaly everything is working its mean communication GP<->PLC is working properly but in the same time is not working communication PC<->CPU I found something inhttps://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll/23643456?func=ll&objId=23643456&objAction=csView&nodeid0=18308132&lang=en&siteid=cseus&aktprim=0&extranet=standard&viewreg=WW&load=contentin point 8.3 that the communication can be aborted

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, well... there you have the Problem. CPU MPI 2 and GP Panel MPI 2 will never work. You have to change the GP Panel to 1 or an address higher than 3to get the system running. Best regards J_Bell

When MPI is 2 (the same like in CPU) then is working ok, only i can`t start monitoring in Step7, but Ethernet connection with S7-1200 is working properly. Generaly everything is ok, only is not working connection PC- S7-300 via Ethernet (it`s not possible to turn on monitoring). As for your panel, the mpi adress 2 will be refering to the CPU addres, otherwise it would not work, still the problem what the Panel adres is, must be configured somewhere in panel. Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello, i think your setting of MPI address is, ok because if you have a address mismatch, the communication will not work at all. So your MPI setting should be ok. Maybe the setting you have in your panel is for remote station and then it is correct. Your error description looks like an lack of resources within S7 CPU. The setting mentioned from Marcjan is the right one. Please check the setting there save and compile and download. There is per default only one connection resource for PG - communication. This resource is used by Step 7. If your panel use the same resource you will get the result as you described. The Only one possible solution is to increase the values. It is independent from which network you call this resource, because the resource will be handled by CPU as the endpoint of the communication.
