Good day Everyone,

Please I need information or preferably a sample program of how to transfer data between two S7-300 PLCs.

Firstly, the PLCs control two different plants and are far apart from each other. So i have installed a Cp343-1 on both racks and connected them using profinet. So the data transfer should happen through the CPs via profinet. I would like to see a (NETPRO) connection of how a connection can be established.

Secondly, i want to use a PUT-GET protocol to transfer the data from one of the PLC DBs to the other via the CP343-1. A Sample program would be much appreciated. Any forum where I can also read and learn what to do is appreciated as I have seen some videos and read some forum but all I see is the integration of the PLC into the other in one single program.

Would the FB13 and 14 both need to be on both PLCs or in just one single PLC? What other confugration or program is needed to be writtine to get this?

thank you for your feedbacks and they have been very much helpful. I have finally been able to set up an S7 connection between the two PLCs.

However, i am still having problem collecting data from the other PLC. Let me expalin further;

PLC 1 is the PLC where I want to get data into.

PLC 2 is the PLC where I want to get data from.

Can I just input any program into the PLC 2 and a DB address from the PLC 2 into the ADDR_1 of the "GET" block in the PLC 1?

Short answer; yes.

Addr_1 is the source area (in PLC2) that you want to transfer to PLC1.

RD_1 is the destination area ( in PLC1) where you will transfer the data collected from PLC2.

do you use CP343-1 or CP343-1 Lean?

GET/Put Instructions have an Error and Status output - did you check them?

If you get Error=True then save Status and check it.

I really appreciate you guys. I have been able to set up the data transfer. I used a VarTable in the PLC 2 and changed the values to ensure data details changed and i got same effect of data change in the PLC 1.

Presently, the program is working and there is data transfer.

Although, I intend to now change some things in the program and try it using another program in the program 2. This way, can I just changed the ADDR_1 to something like: p#db50.dbx0.0 50 bytes? Would this work? That is if I insert a program which has a data in its DB50.

Also, Can i send forward to u the program where i eventually want to achieve this?

Hello David;

Along with a DB50 that contains at least 50 bytes of data in PLC2

If it is too small you will get an error.

I have been trying to work with the new DB like I said earlier, I see that data changed in the PLC 2 whenever I force the change from the Var table. However, it doesnt change in the PLC 1 where I am transferring the data to. (I have attached image)

The data are BOOL, as i am trying to get the status of some devices.

These are the things I have done:

1- I changed the DB number from 50 to 200 to suit my present program which is working and then copied it into the PLC1 and PLC2. In the PLC 1 it is DB200 while it is DB201 in the PLC 2.

2- I did this because the working program had Db201 to copy from and to send to Db201.

3- the former working ADDR_1 was: DB201.DB_VAR while I changed it to p#DB201.DBX0.0 byte. Is this the right thing to do?

I read somewhere that PUT_GET only does transfer of WORDS. Is this true? IF yes, how can I go about that?

PUT/GET does not only transfer Words.

For me, it looks like your pointer and DB doesn´t have the right format.

Are there any error at the PUT/GET-blocks?

please show a screenshot of the block-call.

How long are your DB´s? Do they have the same length?
