S7-300 software redundancy question?

Ahmed Ganainy Experienced Member Joined: 8/22/2009 Last visit: 7/11/2024 Posts: 42 Rating: (1)	I have 12 E200S(profinet) and 2 CPU 315 2PN/DP . Can i use software redundancy for them. All i need is redundancy in cpu only. i know i read software redundancy manaul and its examples. all i have now i s one cpu only so i can't test and also i can't delay start up of my project in testing. FYI: I am using profinet port only. really i don't think it's applicable. Do I ?

I am using profinet port only. Hello AHMED GANAINY I'm afraid to say the answer is"No" and what modules are supported bythe Software Redundancy package are listed in THIS link. ET200M and Profibus is what you would need though(Profinet is not yet supported and ET200S do NOT (and possibly never will)offer the requiredredundant Interface Module).

Wishme Experienced Member Joined: 8/20/2009 Last visit: 5/21/2024 Posts: 80 Rating: (5)	Dear Ahmed, You can use Profinet for communication between HMI/SCADA and PLC, but for Redundant link between two CPUs you must use Profibus and also for ET200M with Active Bus unit for interconnecting different SMs and/of FMs. Regards, Vishal Parmar.
