This leeds me to wonder. Can a S7-300 PLC also be remotely stopped and warm restarted from SCADA (WinCC)? And how?

With Scada you can stop a PLC, but never restart because program is not running. Why do you want to stop a PLC? I always try my best to keep the thing running, whatever happens regards, Marcjan

We have MODBUS TCP/IP, and were thinking about adding an option in the SCADA to allow out service engineers to alter the port configuration, but the PLC needs to be stopped/restarted for the change to take affect.
