S7-300 with Magelis XBT R400

schumiinq Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have an S7-300 which controls an installation. I want to add some consoles for monitoring and diagnose throughout the installation. The network is profibus. On stock i will have some Magelis XBTR400. Giving the fact that XBTR400 only knows PPI (max 10m cable), can i integrate them in the network ? . Perhaps using them with profibus integrators like EM277 is for S7-200. Using XBTR410 will solve the problem, giving the fact that it has an MPI/PPi driver and comes with a 25pin connector. Thank you!

Before talking about S7-300 then EM277 that is for S7-200. Please try to explain better what you want to do. What type of CPU do you have (code)..

schumiinq Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	The PLC is S7300 (CPU314DP). I'm being asked if i can integrate Magelis XBTR400 for control and monitoring. The network is Profibus. I'm not sure how I can do that. I would prefer Siemens consoles but i must be sure it's not possible or the costs are too high.

schumiinq Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Would using XBTR410 which hasSiemens MPI driver would solve the problem ? What if I connect all the XBTR400 on modbus with LU9GC3 (modbus HUB) and then use the schneider LA9 P307gatewayor LUFP7 gateway (modbus to profibus dp)?

Ste39 Platinum Member Joined: 1/21/2013 Last visit: 11/20/2024 Posts: 4620 Rating: (710)	Hi schumiinq, The easiest way is with the HMI XBT R410 which supports MPI and connect to the CPU (door on the left), with the Gateway LUF P7 looks like a ANYBUS communicatorI think you can but I think the costs are a little different. I had done a system some time ago with a CPU 315-2 DP then ANYBUS communicator to communicate between Modbus and Profibus and then some energy meter Modbus ABB and everything continues to work now, but I never tried it with a Schneider HMI .

schumiinq Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	I think there is also a siemens solution : CP340 with the software license for modbus but I think it is cheaper to buy siemens consoles than use this one :) Thank you for your answer.

Take a look our experts Kaulquappe,Wizard,dchartier and smiffy what they say: cp340 modbus software - Siemens Industry Online Support ...
