S7-300F PLC Monitoring Time issue

We have a S7-300F PLC running at a customer, it has a CPU with one ET station and works 100%. I added a second ET station with two I/O cards (DI24 and AI6). The plant had a shut and I chose to download the new hardware in preparation for new loops coming in a months time, no new software was added or downloaded, just HW config. When I downloaded the HW config for the new setup I noticed that an Analog Input card on the old ET (not new ET) had a SF light and on monitoring the card noticed all the channels showed #7FFF and 'flickered' between that and #0000, all I/O on that cards was disabled. After much pondering and with little time left I redownloaded the old HW config and terminated the profibus at my old ET (hence removing the new ET) and all worked fine. I did not make a proper note of the diagnostic error of the card but remember it saying something about 'frame time monitoring' or some sort of 'message'. The one thing I noticed that is different on my two projects is the F_monitoring_time on this card was lower that the others 1980 vs 2500, could this be the issue? I did not change any of these settings, should I be changing these settings or are they set automatically? When I read the manual on this monitoring time testing they talk about setting this time to a time less than the time for the system' ie. "Assign a shorter monitoring time for this F-I/O than for the F-I/O of the system", where is this system time set? Am I onto something here, can anybody shed any light? Regards Philip

Eastern Posts: 557 Rating: (64)	Hello, follow steps. 1) Add hardware offline in hardware configuration & compline 2) complie netpro. 3) go to simatic manager tast. Menu bar--option--edit safety mode open edit safety mode----compile. if it complie successfully. then download from edit safety mode only. hope your problem will solved. Regards

ChessMaster Posts: 84 Rating: (1)	Hi Follow steps byEastern, and apart from that you should install your hardware in proper way, Phisically on the rack not hard ware in siamtic manager, I cam across many errors once I had very simple error in installation, New rack shall be installed properly, check your wiring and bus fault and other things, sometimes error on new rack may cause fault on other racks. Good Luck.
