Hello Naveen Chowdary the only meaningful answer I can provide you with is: Any protocol that is supported by the DCS as well as your S7. Having said that, you'll find that (for better or for worse) Modbus is typically the common denominator when it comes to this combination. If it is Modbus RTU (serial), then you would need a CP341 and either a Modbus Slave License (theDCS is typically the Modbus Master) for it or a Modbus Master license for it (in case the DCS is to be the Modbus Slave. If it is Modbus on TCP then you would need an CP343-1 and the S7 Open Modbus on TCP license. Below are a few links which surmise the communication capabilities that exist in an S7 and contain the moredetailed info. I woudl suggest though that you firstly determinewhat is avaliable in the DCS before locking yourself in: CPU-CPU communication with SIMATIC controllers (compendium) Which types of connection/protocols do the S7-300/400 CPUs and the CPs support by default? Which drivers can be loaded for the serial communication processors? How can you establish OPEN MODBUS / TCP communication from a SIMATIC S7 and where can you find further information? I hope this helps |
