Hello John; The usual (and recommended) way to communicate between a S7-300 and a Siemens inverter would be Profibus-DP. Some users have enquired on using USS, over a CP 340/341 and found it difficult to develop the USS protocol by themselves on these CPs. You can use the search box at the right of this page to locate these threads. Now, there was a solution developed as part of DriveES (an add-on to Step 7) with a USS library DRVUSSS7 for a CP 340 (should work with a CP 341),but it had to be purchased. Unfortunately, the delivery of the library has been terminated last year, due to synchronisation problems for new CPUs and CPs.: DriveES SIMATIC V5.5 SP1: Communication between CPU PtP and CP340 RS232C using the DRVUSSS7 library https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109482136 Note that if your CP 314 is an older model (and also your CP) there is a chance that the older library could work. But you should contact Siemens Support to enquire about the functionality of your equipment and the cost of the add-on library. Start a Support Request, using the link at the top of the page. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
