Hello Dermot; The procedure for both MPI and Profibus-DP is described in the following WinCC manual: WinCC Basic V11.0 SP2Look at chapter 9.8, Communication with PLCs. A CP 5611 is acceptable, and the drivers are already enabled in WinCC V11. See chapter 10.11, on Diagnostics: Setting up automatic bus parameter detectionIf you select an interface with automatic detection of the bus parameters (for example CP 5611(Auto)), you can connect the programming device or PC to MPI or PROFIBUS without needingto set bus parameters. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

I am unsure if my configuration is correct. I tried connecting in both MPI and DP but each shows up an error at the beginning of Runtime. In MPIit states firstly that I should change operating mode to 'online'? what should I change to online.... the CP5611 or the PLC and secondly it states connection has been made followed by connection disconnected. Similar problems arise when connecting in DP. I will attach all screen grabs in word documents. please have a look and see what you think

Hello, Youset the rightaccess point ofthe applicationin your PC/PG interface. See the screens in the attachment. This is an example for ethernet communication. You have to choose in the PC/PG interface your CP5611 with MPI or Profibus. Tweety AttachmentD:\screens.zip (406 Downloads) |

Hello again, Yes that seems to have worked correctly. Thank you. When I turn on Runtime it tells me I have sucessfully connected. Still mentions a warning about turning operating mode to Online...does this matter? Also When I try turn on an output on my PLC using runtime it refuses to do this and gives warnings.I am calling the tags from my PLC tag table...Is this possible? I also tried connecting the PLCtag to a HMI tag but again my only response is a warning.I will attachall the abovewarnings on a PDF document. Attachmentsreen grabs.pdf (393 Downloads) |

Hello, You can check this links if your WinCC V11 works ok. How can you share runtime-generated parameters between several S7-1200 PLCs with a KTP Basic Panel? Demo projects for HMI Panels at WinCC (TIA Portal) for Basic Panels, Comfort Panels and WinCC Runtime Advanced (TIA Portal) You can check it with new project. You can install WinCC V11 new. Tweety |
