Hi all!

So normally you would use a redundant S7-400 setup with two separate profinet networks and have your I/O attached with a redundant ET-200M that is connected to either network.

But what if I have regular ET-200S interface module? Right now the ET-200S connected to the profinet IO system of CPU A (in the hardware config), but when this CPU fails and B takes over, there is no connection to the ET-200S anymore! Both A and B are physically connected to the same ethernet network and have an IP in the same range.

Is it possible to somehow configure the networks so that both A and B have access to our ET-200S on profinet?

you need to wire the network redundant too.

The answer is yes and no in the same time.

For S7-412-5,414-5.,416-5 and 417-5 (configured in SIMATIC Manager), the answer is NO.

What you would like to have is a system redundancy feature which exists only on Profinet IM153-4.

For PCS7 V9.0 and CP 410 H, the answer is Yes by using the new Profinet Y switch (similar to Y couplers in Profibus).
