I want some data transfer from H system to Standalone and vice versa. I tried for MPI communication, but X_PUT & X_GET are not supported by the H System. Is anybody having alternative for the same??? Best Regards, Hi Prashant, Do you Have the Ethernet CP in the CPU 412 side, then it will be easy, I did this way H system with Normal PLC & it is working ok, only I have to write the Logic for 2 times One with CPU A & one with CPU B. using GET & PUT Block.

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	1st option is to configure s7-400 as DP slave and use Y-link. Second (didn't check though, may work, may not) - add PB CP to s7-400. In H-CPU you make 2 PB networks (Nw1,Nw2). Configure CPU and CP of s7-400 as DP slave, connect CPU to Nw1, CP to Nw2 (Step7 will "see" one-sided communication for both of H-CPUs, asymmetric). Write S7-400 outputs to both CPU exchange area and CP exchange area. Then you would have to write additional logic inside S7-400 on receiving commands from H-CPUs.

Best Regards, Dear Prshant, i did this communication on WinCC through OPC.both system was having individual WinCC.i did communication between WinCC & WinCC. Try this if possible.

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	Sorry, Amit_86, I'm not agree with you on proposed solution based on OPC. The thing is - automation hierarchy must be met, i.e. using devices of higher level (such as WinCC server) for lower-level tasks (PLC communication) should be restricted. The reason is simple - imagine you would have to reinstall Windows (for example) on this server. In this case you will lose OPC-connection and thus affect field equipment (PLC). As PLCs have better reliability (and they are really designed to work 24*7) it would be strange to reduce system's overall reliability this way

Hi Aret, I guess, Y-Link does not supports the smart devices as slave. The smart devices includes CPU31x and CPU41x in Profibus DP-->>Configured station. Aret Second (didn't check though, may work, may not) - add PB CP to s7-400. In H-CPU you make 2 PB networks (Nw1,Nw2). Configure CPU and CP of s7-400 as DP slave, connect CPU to Nw1, CP to Nw2 (Step7 will "see" one-sided communication for both of H-CPUs, asymmetric). Write S7-400 outputs to both CPU exchange area and CP exchange area. Then you would have to write additional logic inside S7-400 on receiving commands from H-CPUs. The Profibus Bus CP, I can put on Y-Link also. That would reduce my efforts. But the immediate hardware availability is issue for me!!! The job is shutdown job and now it is on it's verge to finish the job and start the plant. Best Regards,

Hello Vispute Prashant You can have a CPU as an I-Slave downstream of a Y-Link, but must in this case do a GSD file based configuration.
