You should switch to IM153-2. 2- You should have 2 rings (One for each CPU). The S7-400H can have various configuration of distributed I/Os. You can read more under Chapter 10 (Using I/Os in S7-400H) in SIMATIC Fault-tolerant systems S7-400H manual. If you have one sided DP slaves (e.g. drives) you can use Y-Link and OLMs but if you are going to use IM153 then it's not a good thing to use Y-Link. For Y-Link with IM153, please check this thread. What I try to say is, if you connect a Slave to Station 0 of the H System and the System switches over to 1 the DP Slave will fail. So if you have this in mind, just go ahead. It will also not help if you try to configure the same DP-Slaves on both CPUs, because one of them is always first... and nobody will be able to say if it is the one you expected. Best regards J_Bell

Second we worked for nothing, the customer has more money than expected, he's chosen the double 417-3H solution with double optical ring, redundant IM153-2 (active bus) and Y-link for s7-200 and 300 slaves. I think i'll enjoy the next few month and i'm sure i'll be back here soon. best regards
