Nothing untoward happened when one of the I/O cards where pulled out and inserted again. We had the alarm messages coming from our diagnostics.Unfortunately we don´t have a specialist there who can give me more precise information.But I will post as soon as I get a detailed feedback. Krish This leads to my next question ... What is the procedure to Read the Diagnostic data Cyclically from ET-200S Modules which are on the Downstream of a Y-Coupler ( Or for that matter without the Bus coupler ) ? I understand I cannot use the "Report System Error" option of STEP7 V5.4 as it seems to be using OB83 etc. so I must resort to cyclical reading of the Diagnostic Data. Best Regards Navnag

In page 165, 12.2 Diagnostics with STEP 7: IM 153-2 *Diagnostic interrupt* *If a DPV0 slave or a non-interrupt-capable DPV1 slave on the underlying master system* *reports a diagnosis, the IM 153-2 initiates a diagnostic interrupt on the higher level DP* *master system ("proxy diagnostic interrupt").* *The diagnostic frame of the slave is stored in the additional interrupt information. If this frame* *is longer than 59 bytes, the information exceeding the 60th byte is discarded. In addition to* *this, bit 7.(Ext_Diag_Overflow) is set in the third forwarded byte (byte x+6).* *The diagnosis of an interrupt-capable DPV1 slave operated in DPV1 mode does not cause a* *diagnostic interrupt.* In page 166, 12.2.4 Example of a diagnosis in redundant mode (Using SFC13) You will find it useful. Also check this thread. Now, Ihave a small comment. Are you going to use Y-Link with IM157 as in your attached picture? I can see that Operation at preset<>actual configuration is permitted. I tried this with Y-Link based on IM153-2 and it was grayed out. Best regards. H-H

I hope you will give us feedback on how you will configure and parameterize ET200S under Y-Link (DPV0 or DPV1). About FB125, I'm not sure it will show you slaves under Y-Link. the DP Master system of the Y-coupler always have 5980 or above and I don't believe this number would fit as a parameter for FB125 (You have to check it). So, FB125 will tell you about DP slaves connected directly to the upper DP masters which means you will have your Y link (IM153-2)displayed just as a single slave (No slaves behind). Now, I'm having doubts whether you have to switch DP MASTERSYSTEM parameter of FB125 according to which CPU is master or not. Takea look at this thread. Best regards. H-H

Well , to give you an overview of the implmentation where we tested this is as attached. The diagnostics were implemented using MOD_4 (FB119). The block was used as mentioned in the help file etc. Since we have implemented in the cyclic OB also, I guess the check is cyclic. During the change of cards we got the module error message on the OS. Since we tried this on an analog signal we got also the signal quality error and also the respective alarms. After module was put back , the usual acknowledge the instrument was back online. Let me know if I should do some more checks. Krish Attachment HWConf.GIF (228 Downloads)

When you removed one module from ET-200S rack, was the rest of the rack and module signals functioning normally ? Dear H-H Thanks for Pointing Out the mistake (IM-157). I am Using Y-Link Pacakage of the Type : 6ES7 197-1LA04-0XA0 Which uses IM153-2 of Type : 6ES7 153-2BA02-0XB0 I have Retried H/W config with this also, which also allows these settings. I was really astonished that there's a dedicated function in PCS7 (I have quite limited knowledge of PCS7) libraryfor monitoring ET200S downstream of Y-Link. I've read its description and it's really good. Thanks again for such info and such help. Dear Navang, I've tried to configure the ET200S standard and HF interface module behind IM153-2 based Y-Link and no use. I still can't mark Operation at preset <>actual configuration. The only way I could enable such feature and also to enable Replace module during operation was to use the inserted DPV0 GSD file. Do you mind if you upload your sample configuration so I can figure out what's wrong with mine? Since I'm still interested in such configuration (Y-Link with ET200S) I read more on the FB125 and found out that the S7-400 H CPUs are not listed in application area of FB125. Best regards.
