I found your question as I'm currently working on some tooling for Step7 (searching for other answers) and it seems for me there was no clear answer on your question.

Secondly i'll describe my problem: I need to list all projects managed by the S7-Manager, which worked very well. The only problem is it displays every project, even example projects and ones not yet added. So is there a way to only display the 'added' user projects? 

Even though it may be not important for you anymore, others may be looking for that answer.

For S7Project object there is a property "Creator".

All projects provided with Siemens (samples, etc.) are with Creator = "Siemens AG"

You can basically filter out all projects with that creator when getting the list from Simatic object.

Never that easy with Siemens.

It came out that not all Siemens blocks are marked with correct author.

So to make it work fine it is better to exclude Siemens installation path.

Finally I took both filter arguments and the code (C#) looks like that:
